Hallpass and Friends is devoted to publishing a web site that protects the individual’s right to privacy.
When you register for your course or as a general user, all information is collected solely to facilitate
your experience on the site. We do not give, sell, or transfer any personal information
to any third party except as might be required by law.
Data Collection for Teachers
Certain information is collected and made available to teachers so that they
can keep track of their students' progress. This information includes (but is not
limited to) feedback results from students' use of the learning modules, postings to
the portal sections, and general usage statistics. Teachers only have access to those
students who have registered for their course.
Data Collection for Statistics
Certain information is collected for statistical purposes and is used to assist in
site management. Hallpass and Friends collects the following
from all visitors to the site:
- IP Address
- Type of Web browser and operating system
- Website from which this site was reached
- Date and time each page is accessed
Cookies
Hallpass and Friends uses cookies (small pieces of information stored on your computer)
to keep track of your session on the site. These cookies do not collect any information
from the user nor the user's computer and expire at the end of the user's visit to the site.
Disclaimer
Hallpass and Friends is committed to providing accurate unbias information. The content
contained in the learning modules is the result of hours of research and collaboration. However,
it is possible that information may have been overlooked or represented inaccurately. Hallpass
commends reporting of such errors via the contact page. We appreciate
all help to ensure information presented is accurate.
Appropriate Content
Hallpass does not condone the use of abusive and hurtful language on this site. All such postings
will be considered a serious violation of the appropriate behavior expected by all users. Abusive and hurtful
content will be immediately removed. The responsible party (student or teacher) may also loose
their access to the site.
Copyright
Hallpass and Friends maintains the copyright on all content on this site
(except as noted below). However, we grant the right of any person or organization to
use any content on the public areas of the site for their personal, educational, or other not-for-profit
purpose. We ask that any material from our site include a credit to Hallpass and Friends
and, where appropriate include a link to www.myhallpass.com. Content only available
through subscriptions is limited in use to those specified in the subscription agreement.
In general, this means that a teacher with a class subscription may (and is encouraged) to
copy, distribute, and display all material available on the site through his/her subscription
to his/her students. However, this material cannot be used by another person not covered in the subscription
agreement.
Creative Commons
Material in the learning modules area of the site is licenced by Hallpass and Friends under
a Creative Commons License. In brief, the license
encourages others to copy, distribute, and display the learning module content
for non-commercial purposes. In return, users must give credit to Hallpass and Friends and the
