The course blog can be used by teachers to provide an asychronous discussion area. It can also be used to post notices to students.

Wikis offer students a fantastic collaboration tool where they can work to generate websites for such things as class projects, science lab write-ups, and exam reviews.

The "Files" section of the course portal provides teachers with an area where they can upload class handouts, articles, and other documents. The section also provides a place where students can upload assignments. Because the site maintains a history of each file uploaded, teachers can have students submit drafts, revisions as well as final copies of papers. They can even write corrections directly in the papers and have students download to make revisions.
